Chat history stays in your browser
Your conversations are stored locally in your own browser (using browser storage such as IndexedDB and localStorage), with automatic local backup copies to reduce the risk of accidental loss. The ChatKimi server does not store your chat history.
Because history lives in your browser, it is tied to the device and browser you use. Clearing your browser or site data can permanently remove your local chat history. You can download a backup of all chats at any time with the Export button in the app, and restore it later with Import.
What is sent to the AI provider
To generate a response, the messages in your current conversation are sent through the ChatKimi server to the configured AI provider (Kimi API technology). The provider processes them according to its own terms and privacy policy. Don't submit information you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI service.
Sign-in session
The app uses a single functional session cookie to remember that you entered the access password. It is not used for tracking.
What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
- No user accounts or profiles.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Server logs
Like most web services, basic technical logs (such as errors and request status) may be generated to keep the service running. These are not used to build profiles of users.
